New Playing Field Pavilion
The existing pavilion on the Memorial Field is now long past its sell-by date and in 2007 a committee (known as PPACT, or Parish Pavilion Action Committee Terington) was formed by a group of volunteers under the auspices of the Parish Council to seek funding for a replacement building and to manage the project.
Funds have now been confirmed to cover the full cost of the project, from a range of sources including the Parish and Borough Councils, Sport England, the Football Foundation (who have provided the largest amount), the Norfolk Youth Fund, WREN (an environmental fund), Terrington Tigers FC and a number of local business, individuals and charitable funds. Fund-raising will continue to cover the cost of fitting out and maintaining the building so your continued support will be appreciated!
Completion of the new pavilion is now due by the end of October. The new pavilion will include four changing rooms with showers (enough for two matches simultaneously) plus changing rooms for match officials, a kitchen and a meeting area. The building, which will be to FA standards, will be available for players of a range of sports as well as for community use. It will also be more fitting for a village the size of Terrington and something we can be proud of.
It is expected that the committee will then help to progress further projects on the Memorial Field, including replacement of the children's play equipment and provision of a skate park, as well as overseeing the booking and maintenance of the pavilioj itself. The committe is holding its AGM on Tuesday 20 October at 7.30pm in the Methodist Chapel. If you are interested in joining the committee please contact the Secretary, Malcolm Catlin, by 13 October at mail@terrington-stc.co.uk
